Yeah, sort of. [And now comes the tricky part: How does he divert from the Evoker without unnecessarily causing trouble?

I summon a manifestation of my true self to defeat monsters, basically...I can use elemental spells, physical attacks and heal, but what we can use is based on our psyche and the powers of my friends are different from mine. [Sort of? The only person whose ability he doesn't have is Fuuka's and that barely counts since she's a scanner type.

Oh, and this is all explained plainly, as if there's nothing weird about summoning one's true self.]

Your true self, huh? I've never heard of a power like that before. Sounds pretty useful though, if you can do all that.

[Kaoru's only now truly appreciating everything Sakaki did in the background for them as a doctor. Like, she knew he was important, but she'd never thought, 'it would be good if he were here' as often as she had since coming to this place.]

It's saved our lives more than a few times. [And half of the reason why Minato was the leader, since he was best at providing support to his friends and switching tactics on the fly. There's nothing boastful about the way he says it, as it was simply a fact.]

And I could say the same about yours. Those kind of things only exist in books where I'm from, but there was the odd guy or two who'd claim to have psychic powers...and come to think of it, there was someone who could do the same thing as you, Kaoru-san. [Is the Major a wizard too? But I thought they all had to use wands or chant...maybe it's better just not to ask.]

[There probably are people who still claim that in her world, but their lie never lasts long.]

...someone with powers like mine? [Wait. Was he talking about...?] Um. Do you mean Kyousuke? You know, silver hair, always wearing a middle school uniform?

Yeah, that's him all right. [...probably shouldn't mention how I happened to know about that either.] You're not going to tell me he's a wizard too, are you? I meant to ask him and forgot about it. [Because Minato had more important things to do like peeling himself off the wall soon after, okay!]

[um. Then she snaps her fingers as if she just had an idea.] Albus Dumble-Bu. That's his real name. But we're not supposed to call him that.

[But then it was...]

But how did you guys meet? [But it sounds a bit like she's asking, what did he do? because she's known him for years now and there's always a chance something happened.]

[He'll give that Albus is a pretty fitting name for someone whose hair is as white as snow, but something about the way Minato's looking back at Kaoru suggests that he's skeptical about it- he's sure for one that Kaz would have had a field day with that name.

But who knows, really?]

I wouldn't say we met so much as he came over to my apartment because of something my friend said to him. [Pause.] It was a memorable first impression, I think... [Read: His bedroom wall has yet to be fixed to remove said 'impression' of its unlucky occupant.]

...what did he do this time?

[Because with espers, 'memorable' can mean many things...even more so when the esper was one Hyoubu Kyousuke.

(Spoiler: she's thinking of something more like him showing up and claiming to be student council president levels of weird.)]

[You sound like you're used to this, Kaoru-san.]

He asked for my apartment's address and teleported into my bedroom, and he yelled "What the hell is wrong with you!?" before slamming me against the wall.

[Shrug.] It didn't hurt as much as it should have, and I think my friend said something to him that he didn't like...is he always like this?

[She stares for a moment then she facepalms, but doesn't seem...very surprised. It's not exactly what she was expecting, but at the same time it's not exactly new.]

Yeah. That sounds like him.

Next time he does something like that, just tell me.

[SHE FEELS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIM AS THE ONLY OTHER PERSON FROM THEIR WORLD BESIDES SHIHO.]

[And to think he's the actual adult in this scenario...]

Guess I could. What are you going to do about him though? [Not that Minato enjoys making holes in his wall or anything, but the worst he could say about Hyoubu was that he was extraordinarily immature.]

[He's the senior citizen, actually.]

I'll deal with him.

Don't worry, my friends and I have known him since we were ten. If anyone can deal with him, it's us.

Okay. [???] I might regret asking you this, but how is he like in your world?

Like someone with a major case of chuunibyou.

[With her annoyance properly voiced she adds,]

But he's very kind to people like me. [By that she means wizar--er. People with powers.] I don't think he's a bad person, he just...it's complicated. [And it really isn't her place to explain.]

Doesn't chuunibyou usually apply to people who think they have powers? I can understand why you said that, though... [And in seeing the contrast between Kaoru and Hyoubu using their powers it's clear to him now that it's not a coincidence that he seems to favor teens with powers. Some kind of trauma related to that?]

Complicated's one way to describe him, but I don't mind that at all.
