[She says it so simply and with such surety. That's right. They had been friends and they'll still be friends no matter what.]
No matter if I'm older or younger, whether I remember or not, I am still Akashi Kaoru and I will always be your friend. [She pulls back, just enough to wink at her.] Try not to forget that, okay?
What's wrong with a snowman? Would you rather it be a snow angel or something?
[And she's just laughing because now she's imagining you in a dress with the wings and the harp and the halo and all that. The snow is...that's amazing. She holds out her hand and watches the way the flakes melt on her palm.] That's so cool! I've never met anyone who could this this before! [She is properly impressed.
She nods because when Shiho panics she either just freaks out and screams or freaks out and pulls a gun on someone.
Kaoru had to learn to sit still for school, but watching Jack moving around like that is starting to make her feel antsy...though watching him float around is giving her an idea.]
Snowmen are great. Representations of my life that make me look bad? Not so much.
[Laughter is good, great even. Please keep on being impressed, it makes Jack happy and it feeds his ego (nothing wrong with that, right? Right). Someone enjoys his winter, so he'll leave the snowing go on for a while. There isn't a better weather for exciting adventures in a new world.
The question makes him grin a smile that has nothing to envy Cheshire's. He stops his circling and points his staff at her, a BRING IT ON expression on his face.]
[She will probably keep being impressed for a while yet. The closest anyone she knows who can do something like this is someone who could make and manipulate fire.
Kaoru stands with a grin and her hands planted on her hips. She cocks her head to one side.]
I hope you do because that's exactly what it is.
[Kaoru's already scanning the skyline for something they can use as the finish line.]
[Oh-ho! Someone is putting up an attitude! And Jack is perfectly fine with that, it makes this challenge more fun. That big grin is still there and it's not leaving any time soon.]
You are ON. So better think fast. WIND!
[A strong breeze ruffles their hair and suddenly Jack disappears. Well, more like he's flying back to the city, but his swift dive sure makes it look like a magic trick.
Wait, Kaoru isn't trying to think of rules or anything, right? Finish line? AHAHA that's cute of her.]
But Kaoru doesn't really mind. Instead, she laughs and shoots right after him.
She never has the chance to do this often, to fly fast for no other reason than the fun of it. No timers, no tests of her abilities (followed by suggestions to were the ugliest flight suit ever) and no consequences if she doesn't make it in time.
This wasn't a mission or a training. It was just them messing around.
That doesn't mean she won't try to win though! He may be fast as the wind, but Kaoru is no slouch either!]
I have not looked in a mirror lately, actually. [She was kind of busy coming to terms with the fact that everyone was apparently dead.]
But thank you. I am glad that you think so. [As Veronica says this, she smiles, hand coming up carefully to touch the Cutieteer necklace still around her neck.]
[Kaoru doesn't understand the merit of meditation (she just falls asleep).]
Hey. [She tugs at his arm.] You'll find your [What was the word again...?] own thing and when you do, it'll be cooler than flying!
[But, yes. She agrees. Especially since the minotaur was looking like it wanted to charge. She throws her hand out and grabs its foot (hoof?) and pulls it to make it fall.]
But it's normal for older women to feel self-conscious, isn't it? Granny Fujiko [Because she has to differentiate somehow] May look young but she's really ninety years old, and she hates being reminded of that.
Obviously, you don't, but I can sort of get where she's coming from.
