[She stopped for a moment then laughed sheepishly.] I hadn't even thought about being caught, actually. [She probably should have. This is why she's bad at keeping her powers a secret.]
I just thought we might not be able to see her if she's on the ground. There's an awful lot of leaves. [She sighs.]
Yeah, sort of. [And now comes the tricky part: How does he divert from the Evoker without unnecessarily causing trouble?
> Be honest > Make something up > Gently refuse to explain]
I summon a manifestation of my true self to defeat monsters, basically...I can use elemental spells, physical attacks and heal, but what we can use is based on our psyche and the powers of my friends are different from mine. [Sort of? The only person whose ability he doesn't have is Fuuka's and that barely counts since she's a scanner type.
Oh, and this is all explained plainly, as if there's nothing weird about summoning one's true self.]
[Kazuya hesitated only briefly - it wasn't a fact that he actively hid, but it wasn't something that he openly stated unless pressed. This girl knew Hyoubu, and she had her own weird powers, so... okay. He shrugged his shoulders, aiming for a casual air]
Yeah, I have some. Pyrokinesis is my main thing though. [he lifted his hand, and wisps of black flames twisted from his fingers, before snuffing out] See? So, yeah, that's... it.
[Lie, but, that was all he was willing to say at the moment]
I didn't mean it like that. And I never underestima- WAUGH!
[With that, Phoenix is yanked forward! ...But his jacket is still stuck on the branch, so it's very awkward. Now Phoenix is extra terrified and confused.]
Usually just to our team. [It's probably as ridiculous as she thinks. But he's proud of his brobot nevertheless.] He's programmed to heal the sick and injured either way.
But no. No superpowers, just a bunch of cool gear I made in my lab. That's the best part about it. You can't upgrade superpowers, you know? This is better.
I had actually put up a continuation thread on the log ^^;
Your true self, huh? I've never heard of a power like that before. Sounds pretty useful though, if you can do all that.
[Kaoru's only now truly appreciating everything Sakaki did in the background for them as a doctor. Like, she knew he was important, but she'd never thought, 'it would be good if he were here' as often as she had since coming to this place.]
[Okay, so she's no ESP specialist like Minamoto, but she's not sure pyrokinesis is the kind of power where the user can accidentally nearly break someone's ribs...unless they were trying to play at being Mazinger Z and launch themselves at someone by making fire burst from their feet. But who would even do that...?
She's not going to point it out though. Everyone has their own reasons for hiding these things.]
So you're like Kagari? Except, you know. Your fire is black. [Well, since he's told her about his power...] Mine is psychokinesis. That's the only power I have.
It's saved our lives more than a few times. [And half of the reason why Minato was the leader, since he was best at providing support to his friends and switching tactics on the fly. There's nothing boastful about the way he says it, as it was simply a fact.]
And I could say the same about yours. Those kind of things only exist in books where I'm from, but there was the odd guy or two who'd claim to have psychic powers...and come to think of it, there was someone who could do the same thing as you, Kaoru-san. [Is the Major a wizard too? But I thought they all had to use wands or chant...maybe it's better just not to ask.]
Kagari? Um, I guess. [Kazuya looked openly bemused, not knowing who that was, but it cleared when Kaoru continued speaking;] Psychokinesis... that the name for the lifting and pushing things with your mind, right?
[He hadn't really encountered words like "telekinesis" or "psychokinesis" before meeting Hyoubu, so he was still unsure on the correct esper terminology of things (hell, he didn't even know the term "pyrokinesis" before meeting Hyoubu)]
That always seems like such a useful ability, y'know. I'm kinda jealous. Can't really do much with burning things.
Baymax's gear lets him fly and use his rocket-powered fist. [So there's that.] GoGo's lets her speed up really fast and throw discs to attack, Wasabi has plasma lasers in his gauntlets, Honey Lemon can create chemballs to throw to make solids and gases and Fred can breathe fire and jump really high. So...those kind of powers.
[Yup. He's a little more than arrogant right now because he's very proud of himself.] It's just me and Baymax here in Tellus though.
[Okay, okay. How about she just...lifts you up a little? That'll work right? You'd need some special kind of bad luck to be stuck in such a way that you remain stuck in both directions, right?]
He's one of the kids who lives with Kyousuke. He's about my age.
[She nods.] Yeah. You've seen Kyousuke use it, right? [Since you did mention it earlier.]
Ah, well. It's pretty useful, I guess, but my friend's powers are cooler. [And less likely to accidentally send someone to the hospital. Despite her recent acceptance of her powers her feelings about them are still complicated.]
[Man, when you put it like that, then it has to go only one way... He does start to drift upwards, but there still is a snag holding him back from that direction too after all. Phoenix is too busy panicking to focus on it, though.]
